PlayUp’s expert selections for this Wednesday’s racing at Sandown and also Randwick.
Sandown Lakeside R5 #9 Seguso $2.30 at PlayUp – Comes here second up after a very impressive fresh win at The Valley. Nothing went right on that occasion, was slow away and settled back in the field and forced to make runs up the inside after getting pushed back there. He still had the power to burst through and win very impressively on the line. Second up here fitter, and his get back racing pattern will be much better suited here at Sandown over the 1300m. He comes through a strong rating win and clearly looks the one to beat.
Sandown Lakeside R6 #8 Best Episode $8.00 at PlayUp – Getting a very generous price about this lightly raced 3yo who resumes here off a spell. Two career starts last prep included a debut run behind Sensatinalisation, who has since gone on to strong Saturday class, and a maiden win as favourite. She resumes here off some nice jump out work, and the form lines from last prep are strong. A few others in this race will want 1800m plus, whereas she finds her right distance here fresh and should be running a big race from a low draw with Mark Zahra booked.
Sandown Lakeside R8 #2 Garvoc $2.50 at PlayUp – An absolute tragedy last start at The Valley was this horse, never ever seeing daylight in running and copping a lot of interference to the line. Forgetting that start completely, her win two back when fresh at Geelong was very impressive. She beat Savannah Cloud who has since run second again behind a very talented horse in Snapper. Third up here and out to 1200m will really suit, and the claim enables him to hold weight here in easier grade during a midweek meeting. More luck from a low draw this time will surely have her reversing the result and rejoining the winners stall.
Randwick R4 #10 Stunning To Win $11.00 at PlayUp – Coming off a very strong fresh run where we tipped her to win at big odds that day, and she almost did. She showed great ability at the trials as a 2yo before a long injury lay off saw her finally make a debut at Gosford. She had the rails run and flew home only to be beaten by a better one on the day. Second up here and will strip much fitter for that run, and the raceday experience likewise a massive bonus over her rivals here. Draws the inside again, drops 2.5kg and more or less sticks to the distance which is a positive. Should run another big race here and again looks over the odds.
