Greyhounds Tips May 7th

Mandurah Oaks final in the highlight of racing tonight and the leading trainer in the West, David Hobby, is well represented with three runners including the favorite Sunset Piper who was clearly the fastest heat winner last Friday. Sunset Piper seemed to appreciate the wide draw in her heat, so it will interesting to see how she handles box 2. We are selecting Rippin’ Memphis, who after finding the lead in her heat was galloped on from behind costing her a number of lengths. From box 3 we are expecting her to lead again and win.

Last night produced some upsets but also some outstanding performances, including the run of Kooringa Lucy at Albion Park in winning the Free For All in29.72. She is racing in rare form with last night’s victory being her seventh from her last eight race track appearances. West Australian stayer, We The People, put up a very strong staying performance in her first eastern state start when she came from well back early to then win racing away in a very good 41.80. She will gain many benefits from that run and she can be expected to figure prominently in the upcoming Sandown Cup series. Ninetymile King tasted defeat, after winning his previous seven starts when running second in a heat of the Carnival Chase at Albion Park but he was far from disgraced after being held up early. He has qualified for the final and he will take some beating in the final next week.

Geelong Race 2 No 8 Our Watts $6.50 at PlayUp – Strong winner last start, this track, and distance, in good time. The draw is ok and will get a cart across from the dig drawn in box 7. Nice each odds so looks good value.

Geelong Race 3 No 2 Wedding Or Baby $4.00 at PlayUp – Recent finalist in the recent Group 2 Launching Pad series, so this is a huge drop-in class. Loves an inside box as he cuts hard left at box rise. Trained locally so will know this track well. He looks like the best of the night for us and his price looks very attractive. Base all your multi-bets around him.

Richmond Race 5 No 8 Spring Brigade $1.90 at PlayUp – Looks very well suited by the wide draw. The excellent winner last start from box 4 when held up mid-race but proved too strong in the straight. Has an excellent career record, being a winner of 12 races to date. This field is not strong and he looks the goods in this.

Warragul Race 6 No 1 Disorientated $2.15 at PlayUp – Strong galloper who has an excellent career record winning 8 of his 16 starts. Three previous starts from box one have produced no wins but we still believe he is well suited here. Has the figure to be prominent throughout. Yes.

Mandurah Race 3 No 1 Inversion $3.30 at PlayUp – Veteran galloper who has a good record from the red box. Will need to begin well to hold his place and make full use of the draw,  but does have the speed to achieve this. Like the goods.
