Greyhound Tips October 7th

Fantastic racing across the country continues again tonight, with each week seemingly supplying more and more great racing right through until the end of the calendar year. In the last seven days we have been lucky enough to witness the running of the heats of the Group 1 Adelaide Cup, the Group 3 Mandurah Cup and the Group 2 Sydney Cup. But the week ahead gets even better, with both the Adelaide Cup and Mandurah Cups tomorrow night, followed on Saturday by heats of the Peter Mosman and the Vic Peters, both Group 1 events, at Wentworth Park plus heats of the Group 2 Bendigo Cup in Victoria. This is simply the best time of the year for greyhound racing and therefore for punters.

Three sensational heats of the Sydney Cup, over the testing 720 metre trip, were held last night at Wentworth Park and all three heats were taken out by the short priced favourite thus setting us up for the best final field we could have hoped for. In heat 1, Stanley Road was back to his devastating best in winning by in excess of 7 lengths in the fastest of the three heats, 41.93. Miss Ezmae led throughout in winning by two and a half lengths, from a very unlucky Line Of Quality, in heat 2 in 42.29, whilst in heat 3 Super Estrella also led all the way in winning in 42.04. What a final this promises to be on Saturday week, the speed of Miss Ezmae and Super Estrella, matched against the strength of Stanley Road and Line Of Quality. Let us try and find some winners for the punters this evening, fill up all our pockets and provide us with some punting funds for the week ahead. Just a reminder again, that racing at Sandown remains in the afternoon time slot during Covid lockdown.

Sandown Race 12 No 1 Molly Blazer $2.00 at PlayUp – Very talented young dog who has been sparingly raced due to injuries. Resumed from an eight month break to win impressively at The Meadows recently, in a nice time. Will have benefitted greatly from that run. Loves the rails so this box is ideal and this field is not strong. We are expecting her to lead to the winning post the first time and then run away from her opponents. We think she is the best bet of the night across the country and your banker for your multi bets tonight.

Albion Park Race 4 No 2 Release The Rage $2.70 at PlayUp – In the kennels of leading trainer Tony Brett, this fellow has been racing well over the shorter distances in recent runs but we think he will appreciate the step back up to 520 metres tonight. Begins well and likes the rails, so he is well drawn. We are expecting him to lead throughout.

Albion Park Race 7 No 2 She’s Precocious $10.00 at PlayUp – Form has dropped right away in recent weeks, but we think her last start she did show signs that another win was near. The step back up to the 710 metres is seen as a real bonus as we think that staying is her forte. Can do plenty wrong in her races so we have no doubt we will all be holding our breath at some stage of the race, but this is a winnable race for her.

Geelong Race 9 No 6 Aston Colossus $2.60 at PlayUp – Recently resumed at Bendigo from an eight month break from racing and was heavily supported, indicating that he had been trialling well. On that occasion, after a slow beginning he was heading towards the lead when he was stopped in his tracks. This field is not strong and an empty box on his immediate inside will assist him greatly. With a clear run to the first corner, he will put a space in them.

Dapto Race 9 No 1 Nordic Beauty $11.00 at PlayUp – Veteran galloper but lightly raced. She will appreciate the rails draw having won her only previous start from the draw. The two dog does use plenty of the track so that should provide her with room. She is very nice odds and well worth an each way investment.
