Greyhound Tips October 21st

AFTER such a huge build up to racing last Saturday, when four group finals were conducted across the country, the end result certainly did not disappoint greyhound followers with all four races proving to be super races.

The Peter Mosman Opal at Wentworth Park kicked off the night, and this provided a huge upset when the $31 outsider Light And Lily jumped very well from box 5 to always be close to the lead before wearing down the favourite She’s Salacious in the home straight. The win provided trainer Jordan Tweddle with his first group success. A winner of ten races previously, including a victory at Wentworth Park in 29.89, her starting price does look to be overs now.

Bandit Ned consolidated in position as one of the best sprinters in NSW with his victory in the Vic Peters Classic final, winning comfortably by 2.75 lengths from a very gallant Zipping Kansas. In winning, Bandit Ned took his stake earnings to over $180,000 for connections and his trainer Andy Lord. We have no doubt this figure will leap in the coming months as this dog has it all before him with races like the Top Gun, Melbourne Cup, The Phoenix, Golden Easter and the Million Dollar Chase all on his schedule of races providing he stays sound. This dog can do it at both ends of his races and we suggest that punters continue to follow him closely over the next six months.

The Sydney Cup was turned into a one act affair by rising staying star Miss Ezmae, trained by the Forbes maestro Ray Smith. Finding the rails down the back, she out railed her opposition before racing away for an easy win in a flying 41.70, not far off the track record. The win took her record to 13 victories from just 20 race starts, and her record past 600 metres is 9 from 9. She is a star and Bold Trease at Sandown Park will be her main target in the coming months.

Down in Victoria, the Bendigo Cup was won by the flying son of Aston Dee Bee, Paua Of Buddy, trained by Steve White, who made full use of his inside draw in winning by 4 lengths in 23.29 just 0.01 off the track record set by Typhoon Sammy in the heats of the event. It will be interesting to see if this dog can handle the much tighter metropolitan tracks as he is a huge striding dog that likes to use plenty of the track. Hopefully he can handle them as he has the ability to land a major group race in the coming months.

Down to business for tonight after what was a great night for us last Saturday when we selected four winners, and all at very nice odds. And we think we have nailed some more tonight for punters.

Sale Race 2 No 7 Grant’s Treasure $3.00 at PlayUp
A son of new sire Beast Unleashed, this fellow had his first start here last month when finishing third after a slow beginning. On that occasion he was well supported so he obviously had shown ability in trials leading into the event. In the astute hands of Carolyn Jones, he would no doubt have received some starting box education since his debut, so an improvement is expected.  We also like him from the wider draw tonight.

Dapto Race 4 No 4 Zipping Idaho $2.60 at PlayUp
Recently was first up for six weeks, when she ran on very well for a closing third in nice time at Wentworth Park from box 8. This field is not as strong and being drawn closer to the rails will be helpful. Shows real promise.

Albion Park Race 7 No 2 Indictment $1.75 at PlayUp
Looked a potential superstar winning three races here in succession back in August, all in fast time and with devastating finishing bursts. Disappointed a little in his two subsequent runs. Resuming from a five week freshen up, and back to his favourite track, he looks a good thing in this race. Short in the market but he does look the winner.

Dapto Race 8 No 3 Cowgirl Ethics $3.00 at PlayUp
Flying machine when at her best and is a winner of six from her ten race starts. Resumed earlier this month from three month break from racing, with a handy 4th at Wentworth Park in a heat of the Peter Mosman Opal. She will have benefited greatly from that outing and she looks the leader and the winner for us in this event.

Angle Park Race 10 No 1 Weblec Whirl $2.60 at PlayUp
Formerly trained in Victoria where she was the winner of 14 races, this event looks ideal for her. Her record from the red box is outstanding and she can time some real time when on the lure in front. No luck here at her two runs. She leads and wins for us and she is the best bet of the night, and the banker for your multi bets.

THINK. IS THIS A BET YOU REALLY WANT TO PLACE?
