Greyhound Tips May 6th

What an outstanding week of racing across the nation we have experienced, having seen the heats of the Ladies Bracelet, Bob Payne Sprint and Gold Cup at Wentworth Park, heats of the Mandurah Oaks, and topped off by the WarrnamboolCup final win brilliantly by the Andrea Dailly trained Qwara Bale in blistering time. And let us not forget the clash at Cannington last Saturday night when the young gun Sunset Spitfire retained his unbeaten record in West Australia in defeating star sprinter Tommy Shelby in a classic contest. But it may be the winner of the GRNSW Maiden final at Bulli on Tuesday that is best remembered in the future. Zipping Kansas recorded the seventh fastest time ever on the Bulli track when winning by 10 lengths in a staggering 25.92 at just his second race start. The son of Super Panama looks to be one right out of the box, and yet another star from the Martin Hallinan production line. Trainer Jason Magri predicted the dog would break the 26 seconds barrier, so his ability was well known. At just 20 months of age, this pup has an enormous future and we look forward to his next race track appearance with great interest.

All eyes will turn to Albion Park tonight with the running of the heats of the Young Guns, over the 520 metres, and the Carnival Chase over the 600-metre trip. Boom Queensland middle distance chaser, Ninetymile King, will be chasing his eighth consecutive victory in heat 2 of the chase, despite drawing in nearer the rails as he does scout very wide in his races to date. Recent Launching Pad winner at Sandown, Kuro Kismet, will also attract attention in his heat of the Young Guns, and his clash with a couple of very promising local gallopers will be worth watching. The final of the Bayroad Queen Stayers Cup at Murray Bridge will see a very open race face the starter, all eight dogs come under consideration, a race we will not be attempting to tip the winner.

Dapto Race 2 No 7 Zipping Panama $2.70 at PlayUp – Showed promise his first two starts when placed at Maitland and then has zero luck at Wentworth Park last start. Litter brother to the flying Zipping Kansas and is a member of the strong John Finn team. Looks suited here.

Sandown Race 2 No 6 Aston Oriental $5.00 at PlayUp – Ran home strongly last week here in a similar grade of race. Does lack early speed but handles herself well in the field. With no bad luck, she can finish over this field. Nice value.

Sandown Race 4 No 3 Pump It $4.80 at PlayUp – Star middle-distance performer in the making. Rattled home here last week, in good time, when narrowly defeated. Well-drawn close to the rails here and she will prove too strong. She is our best of the night and the banker for all multi bets.

Sandown Race 7 No 2 Tyler Durden $2.30 at PlayUp – Very consistent performer over both the sprint and middle distance. Just failed to run out the 660 metres at Bendigo last start so will be better suited back to the 595-metre trip tonight. Has the speed to be on the speed throughout. Handles the Sandown track very well also.

Murray Bridge Race 8 No 1 Booralite $3.80 at PlayUp – Impressive winner here last start in fast time from an inside draw and a repeat of that performance will see him winning again.
