Greyhound Tips: 9th March

It certainly is a wonderful time of the year for greyhound racing on our provincial tracks at the moment, right across the nation, with a number of country cups being conducted plus the rich middle distance GRNSW Country Classic series at Dubbo, which continues on Saturday with the semi finals. Tomorrow night, the final of the Group 2 Horsham Cup (485m) is to be conducted, whilst the finals of the Group 3 Temora Cup (457m) and the Group 3 Murray Bridge Cup (455m) will be run on Sunday evening, both in the twilight zone. Then on Saturday night, the focus moves to Cannington in West Australia, and Group 1 metropolitan racing returns, with the running of the heats of the Perth Cup (520m) and The Galaxy (715m). And let us not forget this afternoon, when four very strong heats of the Group 2 Maitland Cup (450m) will be conducted at yet another provincial track.

After an excellent night last Saturday for our followers, when we nailed some very nice winners and at attractive odds, greyhound meetings will be held tonight at Albion Park, Dapto, Sandown Park, Warrnambool, Hobart, Angle Park and Mandurah, providing us with plenty of options in our attempt to find further winners for our followers. On Saturday, we will provide our selections for all eleven Group 1 heats being conducted at Cannington, so hopefully our recent good form will continue.

Sandown Park Race 3 No 6 Transponder $2.35 at PlayUp – Recently joined the very strong kennel of Jason Thompson, recording an outstanding first up win at Geelong, circling the entire field after being checked back to last in the early stages of the race. Did win well at this track and distance at his first race track appearance. Looks the makings of a very promising greyhound.

Sandown Park Race 5 No 3 Hara’s Skipper $5.00 at PlayUp – Made his middle distance debut here last week from a wide draw, finishing a close up second after suffering interference on a number of occasions in the run. He does do his best racing at this venue. Yes, the red will be hard to beat, but if our selection can find the rails behind him, we think he can prove to strong in the closing stages. Each way value on offer.

Dapto Race 8 No 5 Coppola Bale $5.00 at PlayUp – Slow early but does have a very strong finish. This field is not strong with a number of the greyhounds unproven at this distance. Look for our selection to be storming home, wide on the track, in the closing stages of the race. Very strong each way chance.

Angle Park Race 8 No 1 Spring Illusion $3.80 at PlayUp – Resumed from a four week break with a strong all the way victory at Gawler recently, in nice time. Races well at this track and does race well from inside draws. Small field here, he does look the leader, and we think the winner at odds.

Sandown Park Race 10 No 2 Wharfie $3.60 at PlayUp – This greyhound loves this track and distance, winner five times and being placed on a further five occasions. Has not had much luck in recent starts but has still been in the finish. With a slow beginner inside him, we think he can find the early lead tonight, and once in front he is very difficult to run down. We think he is the best bet of the night anywhere, so make him your banker in all your multi bets tonight.

Mandurah Race 2 No 1 Solar Zoom Bet Now at PlayUp – Speedy greyhound who is a faultless beginner, so should have little trouble clearly leading in this field. In this grade of race at this track, over this distance, if you lead you generally win. Nice odds available.
