Greyhound Tips: 7th July

Huge night of greyhound racing awaits us tonight, with Albion Park in Queensland holding two Group 1 finals, the Brisbane Cup (520m) and the Queensland Cup (710m), whilst down in Victoria at Sandown Park, the final of the Group 2 McKenna Memorial (595m) will be run. Greyhound Racing Queensland have significantly increased the prize money on offer this year to their group races, and the strength of the fields that have qualified for both finals confirms how well the two races have been supported by trainers from all states. The Brisbane Cup winner will receive $350,000, whilst the Queensland Cup winner will take home $150,000. It certainly is a great time to be involved in the industry, every month is full of feature races across all states, with the prize money at levels never seen before. Get on board.

We think we have identified some nice winners for our followers tonight, so hopefully we can help fill your pockets before the weekend.

Albion Park Race 6 No 1 Bedrock Fred $2.45 at PlayUp – No doubt he is the most improved stayer in the country, winning his last three starts in scintillating fashion at this venue. Drawn to hold the lead again, and if he can do that he should have the strength to hold his challengers off. Look for an improved run from Super Estrella (2). Selections: 1-2-4-7.

Albion Park Race 8 No 8 Orchestrate $3.30 at PlayUp – Very tough and even race, with all greyhounds considered a winning chance. We can Photo Man (1) and Orchestrate vying for the lead at the winning post first time, and have decided it will be the pink that can emerge on top and the victor. Both dogs are racing so well, it will be a mighty race and a close finish. Look for Big Opal Rocks (3) and Equalizer (6) to both be storming late. Selections: 8-1-3-6.

Sandown Park Race 8 No 2 Aston Ulysses $3.40 at PlayUp – Very even field on paper but we think Aston Ulysses is drawn to find the lead early, and if he can do that, he has the strength to hold his opposition off in the drive to the finishing line. Very consistent greyhound. Mepunga Warrior (7) is poorly drawn but he will be storming home late and appears the main danger. Selections: 2-7-3-1.

Albion Park Race 3 No 4 Shipwreck $2.10 at PlayUp – Beaten into second place at his two most starts, both at this track. But both runs were simply outstanding. This field is slightly easier so we think he can go one better. Very strong so will keep coming. This dog has a big win in him.

Sandown Park Race 6 No 5 Hummock $3.60 at PlayUp – Can find plenty of trouble in his races, especially when up in the higher grade. Will find this easier than recents starts. Has the speed to find the lead in this field, and he is very strong when on the bunny. This does look his race.

Albion Park Race 7 No 3 Good Odds Cash $1.85 at PlayUp – Star NSW greyhound who has zero luck from a wide draw last week here in a heat of the Brisbane Cup. Forget she went around, never out of trouble in the run. Drawn much better tonight. Will lead and win.

Sandown Park Race 10 No 1 Queen Lina $2.10 at PlayUp – Best drawn runner of the night and we think the best bet of the night, and therefore your banker in all your multi bets. She has been racing very well from wide draws. Chases better from inside draws. Should lead all the way in this field.

Angle Park Race 8 No 1 Hushing Dusk $3.60 at PlayUp – Ex Victorian who is having her first start in South Australia for the Lauren Harris kennel. Victorian form has been good in much stronger fields than meeting here. Looks a very winnable race. She does love an inside box. Looks the goods.

THINK. IS THIS A BET YOU REALLY WANT TO PLACE?
