Greyhound Tips: 6th August

Our followers should have full pockets after Thursday, when we successfully selected seven winners and three placings from our ten selections, with two of the winners being $6, and five of them returning greater than even money. End result, an extremely profitable night for our followers. State heats of the National Sprint Championship continue tonight in New South Wales at Wentworth Park, and in West Australia at Cannington. Very strong heats have been drawn at both venues. Next week, each state in Australia will conduct their final of the Sprint, plus a one off race for the distance performers, with the winners to progress to the National Sprint final and the National Distance final at Wentworth Park on Saturday 27 August. Some outstanding greyhounds have been successful in winning the Nationals over the years, a race held in high regard and much sort after among greyhound participants.

Last night at Warragul, outstanding sprinting prospect Mr. Audacious scored a comfortable victory in the final of the Group 3 St Leger (460m) in a fast 25.54 to collect the $25,000 winners prize. Trained in Gippsland by Rachael Bussuttil, Mr. Audacious recorded win number 12 from just 15 starts with his victory. Lightly raced to date due to a number of injuries issues, Mr. Audacious displayed at start number five his enormous potential by breaking the Shepparton 450 metre track record in a heat of the Shepparton Cup back in March this year. Hopefully the greyhound can remain sound in the months ahead, as he has as much ability as any greyhound in the country. Selection time, let us see if we can continue our outstanding form from Thursday and fill the punters pockets some more.

Wentworth Park Heat 1 Race 6 No 2 Good Odds Emma $6.50 at PlayUp – Excellent run last week at this track and distance, from a middle box, when finishing a close second to the in form Coast Model, in fast time. Drawn to lead tonight, and that should hold the key to the result.

Wentworth Park Heat 2 Race 7 No 6 Coast Model $3.30 at PlayUp – Continues to race in great form. Followed up her recent fast win here at Wentworth Park, with an outstanding all the way win on Thursday night at Dapto over the 600 metre trip in fast time. We think she can find the lead early again tonight and win.

Cannington Heat 1 Race 4 No 1 Panama Pepper $2.80 at PlayUp – This is a very strong heat but we are very keen on our selection. He has tremendous acceleration shortly after box rise which should allow him to find the lead. Strong galloper who is capable of running near track record time when on the lure. Our best bet of the night, so make him your banker in your multi bets tonight.

Cannington Heat 2 Race 5 No 6 Eagle Monelli $3.70 at PlayUp – Kennel mate to Panama Pepper, who is just as talented despite lacking early pace. Will need some luck around the first corner but if he is near enough to them down the back, he will prove to strong in the closing stages.

The Meadows Race 1 No 4 Master The Art $2.70 at PlayUp – Stepping up to the 600m for the first time, he should be well suited by the distance. Finished a fast finishing third at this track last week over the sprint course, after finding early bother. Does have early speed and it would be no surprise to see him lead throughout in this event.

Wentworth Park Race 9 No 5 Bandit Jane $5.00 at PlayUp – She has been disappointing in her most recent starts at Dapto over the 600 metre trip, but we are prepared to forgive as she had no luck at the start on both occasions. Her form at this track previously had been first class. We think she is an excellent each way bet, at the odds on offer.

Bendigo Race 10 No 1 Alter Paddy $3.40 at PlayUp – Absolutely loves an inside draw, where she finds lengths in form compared to when drawn off the track. Has the speed to hold the inside and lead throughout in this. Yes.

THINK. IS THIS A BET YOU REALLY WANT TO PLACE?
