Another huge week in greyhound racing as the sport continues to shine for all the right reasons. Great racing across the nation, prize money increases across the board, plus the announcement of the festival of racing by Greyhound Racing Victoria, during November and December. This will entail five Saturdays of racing, across both metropolitan tracks, Sandown Park and The Meadows, where premium racing and entertainment will occur on each Saturday. Headlining the racing will be the Group 1 Melbourne Cup at Sandown Park, with record prize money, and The Phoenix at The Meadows which will carry a first prize of $1 million to the winning connections. Now is the time to become involved, with such great opportunities and rewards.
Tonight we have greyhound racing across the country at Albion Park, Dapto, Angle Park, Sandown Park, Warrnambool, Hobart and Mandurah. It is great to see the veteran greyhounds still competing and tonight at Albion Park, the winner of the Masters Final will receive $17,500 for their efforts, a wonderful reward for the winner. Tomorrow, we have racing at Goulburn in the afternoon, with the final of the GRNSW Southern Stars Sprint being the feature race, with the winner taking home $50,000, whilst at Warragul in Victoria, four heats of the Group 3 St Leger will be run. So the high quality racing continues. Now let us try to find some further winners for our followers, after a very successful week last week.
Albion Park Race 1 No 8 Adulate $1.95 at PlayUp – Only a youngster who recorded two very fast wins at Ipswich recently before coming to Albion Park and running an excellent second in nice time. At most recent start had absolutely zero luck in the run when finishing down the track at this venue. From this draw we expect him to have little trouble finding the lead and winning. Very promising young dog.
Sandown Park Race 3 No 8 Blazing Times $3.30 at PlayUp – Excels from a wide draw. Excellent run last start at Geelong when he finished a fast finishing second to the highly talented Scofflaw over 460 metres. This race lacks depth and looks an ideal race for him, he should be able to land in the leading division early and then prove too strong in the final stages.
Sandown Park Race 4 No 8 Mepunga Warrior $3.40 at PlayUp – High quality greyhound who has been placed at the highest level on a number of occasions. Stepped back up to the longer trip last week but had no luck during the running before finishing a close up placing. Would have preferred an inside draw but he has the class to overcome in this field. Looks a very nice race for him to return to the winners list.
Dapto Race 6 No 1 Wicked Spartan $2.00 at PlayUp – Tragedy beaten here last week, from a wide draw, when knocked out of the race at the first bend but still managed to run on hard for third. Ideally drawn in box one, will simply lead and win. Clearly the best bet of the night and your banker for all your multi bets. Yes.
Angle Park Race 6 No 1 Hushing Dusk $2.25 at PlayUp – She has let us down a couple of times of late when narrowly defeated, but from this draw tonight she gets the chance to make amends. She has the speed to hold the lead tonight. Will have benefitted from her run last week, her first middle distance run for some time, so will strip fitter. Should be able to lead all the way.
Sandown Park Race 10 No 4 Fabriola Duran $10.00 at PlayUp – Excellent run last start at Ballarat when came from well back to finish second. Five starts back recorded a strong win at The Meadows in fast time. Poorly drawn agree, but the dogs drawn inside him go hard to the rails and should provide him with some room early, which he needs. Strong in the run home. Excellent each way chance at the odds.
Dapto Race 8 No 8 Bandit Jane $2.20 at PlayUp – Started very short odds here last week but was knocked out of the race at the first turn. Huge chance to make amends in a field that does not look as strong. She just needs to get around the first corner without getting knocked down to make amends.
