Greyhound Tips: 16th April

Wow She’s Fast took her career earnings to marginally above $938,000 following her outstanding display of speed and stamina on Thursday evening when she simply destroyed her opposition in the final of the Group 2 Launching Pad. Beginning well from her wide alley, Wow She’s Fast was able to cross and lead comfortably out of the straight and from there it was simply a one act affair, as she careered away to a seven length victory in the flying time of 28.927. This time made her the third fastest greyhound ever around the Sandown Park circuit but the fastest ever female. This puts her in elite company. And all this in just twelve career starts. Full credit must go to her trainers, Kelvin and Jackie Greenough, who have managed her perfectly to ensure she peaked on final night. Wow She’s Fast will now be set for the Group 1 Sapphire Classic, also at Sandown Park, in early April. Many greyhound followers were hoping she would head to Wentworth Park next Saturday night to contest the preludes of the Million Dollar Chase, the same path that New South Wales sprinting sensation She’s A Pearl is taking, thus setting up the prospect of the pair clashing in the final a week later. Not to be with the Sapphire Classic option being confirmed yesterday by the Greenough’s.

Regional finals of the Million Dollar Chase have continued across New South Wales this week, with a further final to be conducted at The Gardens tonight. There has been no more impressive winner anywhere than the win of Miss Ezmae at Dubbo on Thursday night. At only her second start back from a five month spell, recording an ever widening twelve length victory, in the flying time of 29.22, the second fastest time ever recorded at Dubbo. Trained by Jack Smith at Forbes, Miss Ezmae will be extremely competitive in the semi-finals of the MDC, given she races so well at Wentworth Park. Keep a close eye on her progress. Heats of the Group 2 Geelong Cup (520m) were run last night with time honours going to the Carly Feltham trained Kysaiah, who won by a big margin in a very fast 29.75, only two lengths outside the track record. Other impressive heat winners were the veteran Yozo Bale (29.85), Aston Merit (29.95) and Emani Bale (29.98). The final will be run on Friday night. A nice $6 winner on Thursday saved our reputation on a night where we had a couple of very near misses. Let us see if we can steer the punters into some winners tonight around the nation.

Wentworth Park Race 2 No 8 Casual Glance $2.05 at PlayUp – Highly talented top grade sprinter who was competitive in group races prior to a 4 month break from racing due to injury. Resumed recently at Gunnedah with a nice second, then went one better a week later with an impressive victory in the Million Dollar Chase regional final. Back to headquarters tonight where he has won previously in a fast 29.78. Very well drawn out wide here tonight as he has the speed to cross and lead. He looks the best bet of the night for us, so make him your banker in all your multi bets.

Meadows Race 3 No 5 Subtle Art $2.45 at PlayUp – Came from off the pace early to record a strong win at Sandown Park last start. Previous start had recorded a nice placing at this track and distance. This race does not have a lot of depth so looks a very winnable race. Yes.

Wentworth Park Race 9 No 3 Panorama $3.10 at PlayUp – Very keen railer who took time to find the rails last week when run down close to the post when finishing second in nice time. Expect her to be out and on the rails early tonight which should allow her to open a race winning lead down the back. Will be improved by just the two runs she had from a special. Looks the winner.

Meadows Race 11 No 5 Foxy Bourbski $14.00 at PlayUp – Very talented bitch who is much better than what her recent form reads. Had a six week freshen up and we are predicting that you will see a much improved performance first up tonight. This race is far from strong. She has won her in 30.24 in the past and that would win this race comfortably. Very nice each way odds.

THINK. IS THIS A BET YOU REALLY WANT TO PLACE?
