Play: U. Khawaja (THU) He is an elite batsman and will pop off at some point this tournament. His price tag isn’t ridiculous either, so think he is a really strong play. Also like him more if Behrendorff isn’t playing for the Scorchers.

Fade: B. Cutting (THU) – Whilst I do expect him to bowl more as the tournament progresses, he’s only chipping in with the odd over at the moment. His batting isn’t enough to support the lofty 17k price tag.

Play: C.Ferguson (THU) – Nicely priced and has good match up against a few Scorchers bowlers. Due for a big one and think it could be tonight.

Fade: D.Sams (THU) – Think he will gain a lot of ownership after last game and he won’t get the same chances to back it up. Fade.

Play: Chris Green (THU) – We saw what Hatzoglou and whatever it was that Nic Maddinson bowled did to the Scorchers. Green should have no worries keeping his economy down against this lineup and could be a chance at a few wickets late in the innings.

Fade: M.Marsh (SCO) – Could have picked an easy target here, but gotta take risks! There is a chance he doesn’t bowl, given his ankle is still not right and Perth have a strong enough bowling attack anyway… He seems underdone and I wouldn’t be paying 17.4k for him. That said every chance scorchers bat’s first and he lights it up…. But is it a 17.4k risk your willing to take?

Play: U. Khawaja (THU)  Will probably be under-owned thanks to bad scores and has a high ceiling. Strong upside.

Fade: C. Green (THU) – Looked terrible in the first 2 games and was lucky to take wickets. Look elsewhere.

Play: A.Turner (SCO) – Bit of a risky play, but worth the gamble at the really fair price point of 13k, especially if Perth bat first. Has seen them fairly well so far this tournament and can hit a big ball on his day, so the smallish ground will suit his style. He is also a chance to roll the arm over, given the Scorchers don’t have too many bowling options. Play at the price.

Fade: D.Sams (THU) – Absolutely hit the jackpot with the bat last game with 65 of 25 balls.  The facts are that he actually scored more runs in that one innings than he did the entire of last season where he averaged 4.58 and scored 55 runs in 15 innings. Absolutely abysmal. He is way over-priced off this one performance and will probably be over owned. The Thunder also have a long bowling line-up, so if he gets hit around a bit early on he might not get his full allotment of overs. Happy to fade tonight.
