Randwick Kensington R2 #2 Heart Breaker $3.50 at PlayUp – This Snowden runner comes here first up off the back of two very smart trials. Dominated the first one by 5L towards the end of January in an electric last 600m of 33.4 seconds. Then on the 6th of February he settled in the lead, got given a quick reminder by the rider and accelerated towards the line. Having showed great turn of foot in both those trials, he should be ready to fire here. Another positive is that he has the benefit of race experience over the other two main chances.
Randwick Kensington R4 #6 Shuhood $4.80 at PlayUp – Willing to put this filly on top because of her current price. Thought her run first up at Warwick Farm behind Juan Diva was full of merit. That was first up over the 1100m, she was forced to sit wide and cover ground, and was charging at the line late to grab second when it was all over. Comes here second up fitter, and stepping to the 1400m which is a big positive. Also, she has trialled exceptionally well in the interim, finding the line with a great turn of foot under slight urgings. The wide barrier is my only concern, but with even luck finding cover she will be right in this.
Randwick Kensington R7 #8 Beaufort Park $4.80 at PlayUp – Complete forgive run last start for this Gerald Ryan galloper. Struck serious traffic problems in the straight, and only got clear when it was all over. That was second up over 1400m behind Subpoenaed, which is a strong enough form race for this. Comes here third up, fitter again for the two runs this prep, and stepping up an extra 150m which shouldn’t hurt. Drawn to get a very comfortable run again behind the speed, just needs to find clear running this time to be very competitive in this race. Current price may still allow for an each way bet!
Sandown R2 #3 Diasonic (BEST) $2.60 at PlayUp – This Richard Laming gelding resumes here off the back of what was a highly promising debut campaign. He won strongly on debut over 1200m at Cranbourne, before running behind Oasis Girl second up, and finishing less than a length from the winner third up in the G2 Sandown Guineas. The form out of all of those races has stacked up very well, so he could unleash some serious talent here in his second campaign. Has had one jump out to prepare for this race, where he closed off very nicely under a big hold behind the talented Sassy Salitage in one of the quickest heat times of the morning. Drawn to get a suck run from barrier one, he should be too classy for these.
