AFL Round 10 Betting Tips

The 2020 AFL season has been as unpredictable as it’s ever been, but it’s led to some fantastic matches and fascinating viewing. We now turn out attention to Round 10, which kicks off on Monday night with Port Adelaide vs Western Bulldogs, and concludes on Friday night with Essendon vs GWS. As always, you can check out all our previews and free sports picks below, with thanks to the team at Total Sports Picks.

Port Adelaide vs Western Bulldogs

Monday 7:10pm, Adelaide Oval

Port Adelaide bounced back in style with a dominant win over Melbourne in Round 9. First year star Mitch Georgiades chimed in with three goals and a couple of very impressive marks.

The Western Bulldogs were humiliated by an undermanned Richmond outfit last Wednesday, losing by 41 points without ever looking likely of challenging. On a positive note, Josh Dunkley returns from injury to face the Power.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Bulldogs respond from such a disappointing loss last weekend. That said, even if they do turn up, the Power should be able to negotiate a pretty comfortable win on their home deck.

Prediction: Port Adelaide Power -15.5 @$1.90

Richmond Tigers vs Brisbane Lions

Tuesday 7:10pm, Metricon Stadium

Richmond reminded us all just how good they can be when their system is firing on all cylinders. They suffocated the Bulldogs from the opening bounce in their last outing and controlled the game like we know they can.

Brisbane were far too good for the Bombers in a potential danger game in Round 9. Lachie Neale was the star of the show once again with 33 disposals and two goals.

We’ve seen time and time again that is doesn’t necessarily matter which Tigers suit up on the night, as long as they all buy into their system. They’ve suffocated the Lions in the past and if they bring the same heat again here, then they’re great value to secure another win.

Prediction: Richmond Tigers @$1.92

Geelong Cats vs North Melbourne

Wednesday 5:40pm, Gabba

Kicking off a double-header on Wednesday night is a battle between the Cats and the Kangaroos at the Gabba. There’s a sentence no-one could’ve ever imagined being true.

Geelong were brave against the Eagles last weekend but eventually ran out of steam, while North Melbourne had a huge win against a horrible Crows outfit.

The Cats have had a really tough schedule of late but find themselves in a favourable matchup here. Anything other than a comfortable win against North would be a big surprise.

Prediction: Geelong Cats -14.5 @$1.90

Adelaide Crows vs Melbourne Demons

Wednesday 8:10pm, Adelaide Oval

Adelaide have had their chances in some close games this season, but last weekend wasn’t one of them. They were obliterated by the then 17th placed North Melbourne, which simply isn’t acceptable.

Melbourne were equally as bad as the Crows last weekend, but at least their thrashing was at the hands of the ladder-leaders in Port Adelaide. The Demons were called out publicly by some of their own after their insipid performance, so a big response is needed by their playing group in Round 10.

This is probably the best chance of securing a win that the Crows will get for the remainder of the season. That said, it’s hard to see them getting the job done. Expect the Demons to bounce back and win this.

Prediction: Melbourne Demons 1-39 @$1.81

Collingwood Magpies vs Sydney Swans

Thursday 5:40pm, Gabba

Collingwood were outworked by Fremantle on Sunday night and now find themselves outside the top eight at the halfway point in the season.

Sydney were no match for a silky Saints side in their last outing and have slipped to 3-6 on the season, effectively ruling out any finals aspirations they might’ve had.

The Magpies have been poor for a couple of games in a row now but simply must bounce back against the Swans. They have a huge talent advantage in this matchup and will surely be far too good in what’s nearly a must-win match.

Prediction: Collingwood Magpies -16.5 @$1.90

Gold Coast Suns vs St Kilda Saints

Thursday 8:10pm, Metricon Stadium

Gold Coast have had a similar start to last season where they won some early games, injuries struck, then they drop off. The hope is they’ve learned from it and can stay competitive in 2020.

St Kilda look like the most improved team this season, which is crazy considering how little training new coach Brett Ratten has been able to have his team completed. They’re third on the ladder and have a great chance to hold their place in the top four with another win.

While the Saints have been very impressive of late, they have struggled in some games against lowly sides. They should be winning this, but a big blowout seems unlikely.

Prediction: St Kilda Saints 1-39 @$1.88

Essendon Bombers vs GWS Giants

Friday 7:50pm, Metricon Stadium

The final game of the round is a Friday night fixture between two sides sitting on five wins. The Bombers have been labelled the worst 5-3 team in history and you can understand why. They were dismal against the Lions last weekend and have an injury list growing by the week.

GWS have looked more like the team we expect them to be with two great wins on the trot. They continued their dominance over the Suns on the weekend with a controlled four quarter performance.

The Giants have looked a much hungrier team in their past couple of outings and should be far too strong for a Bombers side with numerous injuries and lacking the depth to cover them. Giants at the line looks to be the play to close out the round.

Prediction: GWS Giants -13.5 @$1.90
