What a night of greyhound racing we have ahead of us this evening, headlined by the running of three Group 1 finals at Sandown Park, these being the Harrison-Dawson (515m), Sapphire Crown (515m), and the Sandown Cup (715m). Up north at Albion Park, four heats of the Group 3 Brisbane Young Guns (520m) will be run along with two heats of the Group 3 Carnival Chase (600m), whilst in Adelaide at Angle Park, two heats of the Group 3 Howard Ashton (530m) will be contested. When you consider we also have racing at Casino, Dapto, Gunnedah, Shepparton, Ballarat, Warragul, Mount Gambier, Hobart and Mandurah, there is certainly plenty of opportunities to find a winner, hopefully we can provide you with some assistance right here.
Sandown Park Harrison Dawson Final Race 5 No 3 Titan Blazer $5.50 at PlayUp – Extremely tough race to select the winner, with all eight dogs considered a chance of winning. We believe the likely leaders to be Kinson Bale (4) and King of Calypso (5), with Titan Blazer (3) very close at hand and on the rails. Both Kinson Bale and King of Calypso use plenty of the track and this should allow Titan Blaze to rail to the lead in the back straight and then hold off all challengers in the straight. Expect Rapaki Rocks (2) and Nikoli Bale (6) to be late challengers. Selections: 3-2-5-4.
Sandown Park Sapphire Crown Final Race 6 No 5 Wow She’s Fast $1.90 at PlayUp – Looks a little easier to assess, with four definite chances in our minds. Idolise (2) is a faultless beginner and will lead to the winning post, with Wow She’s Fast (5) and Levitation (7) expected to be hot on her tail. Idolise will swing wide into the back and this allow Wow She’s Fast to drive to the lead and that will be the race. Levitation will follow her through but be unable to match her, whilst Immunity (8) will be the dog making ground late. Selections: 5-7-8-2.
Sandown Park Sandown Cup Final Race 8 No 7 Untapped $4.40 at PlayUp –Another tough races with many chances but we really like the chances of Untapped (7), who is a front running stayer getting stronger with each race. We expect Golden Quest (6) to lead initially, providing a perfect cart into the race for Untapped who we expect will assume control a lap from home. Once on the lure she can set up a winning break into the back. Jarick Bale (8) is desperate for the inside, and from the wide draw he will take some time to find it but watch for him working into the race down the back. Mepunga Ruby (2) is a quality stayer, but we can see her being shuffled back from her inside draw. Should she nail the start she would be the dog to beat. Selections: 7-8-6-2.
Angle Park Race 2 No 1 Harry $3.80 at PlayUp – Ex Victorian who has been extremely costly for punters to date in both Victoria and South Australia. We are expecting that we will see a different dog from this rails draw tonight. This dog does have a huge motor and from this draw, punters should finally get to see it. We think he is the best bet of the night and your banker for all your multi bets.
Sandown Park Race 9 No 8 Rohan Bale $2.80 at PlayUp – Very promising stayer who was desperately unlucky here two starts back when badly checked when moving into a winning position approaching the home turn. Excellent run last week again, when held up early before finishing a nice second in a Sandown Cup heat to Collinda Lady. This race looks ideal for him.
Sandown Park Race 10 No 1 Equalizer $2.35 at PlayUp – Generally a slow beginner but absolutely loves an inside draw. Tonight, from this draw, we are expecting him to position himself much closer to the lead than normal. Super strong at the end of his races, so if he can be close enough, he will prove far too good.
Albion Park Park Race 8 No 4 I’m Explosive $3.60 at PlayUp – Super consistent performer over all distances but does excel at this middle distance range. Can be a hit and miss at box rise on occasions but she has good field sense which enables her to get through fields if she does miss the start. We are looking for her to be in the leading couple of dogs throughout.
