Racing

Greyhound Tips: 29th April

Another super night of greyhound racing awaits us tonight with the running of the Million Dollar Chase (520m) semi-finals at Wentworth Park in Sydney. But that is not the only venue running quality races tonight, let us not forget the 50 Year anniversary meeting of greyhound racing at Angle Park in South Australia, plus we have the final of the Mandurah Derby (490m) in Western Australia, quality racing at all three venues.

The build up to the running of the eight semi-finals of the Million Dollar Chase has been massive to say the least. What a great concept this event is, which involved the whole state of New South Wales by the way of running heats and finals at 14 regional tracks over the last four weeks, followed by the city preludes which were run last Saturday night at Wentworth Park. Tonight, eight magnificent semi-finals will be run featuring the best sprinters from across the country. When you add two heats of the Group 1 Gold Cup (720m) for the stayers, we believe the meeting is as strong as any ever held at the track previously. Hopefully we can find the punters a few winners.

Wentworth Park Race 1 No 5 Super Estrella $1.95 at PlayUp – Front running stayer who deserves to win a major race. Should lead throughout in this heat. Selections: 5-3-2-4.

Wentworth Park Race 2 No 6 Zipping Kansas $1.26 at PlayUp – Disappointing his last two runs but we can forgive. Capable of running amazing times when on the lure. Yes. Selections: 6-1-5-2.

Wentworth Park Race 3 No 3 Lala Kiwi $2.35 at PlayUp – Astonishing run last week in the prelude to qualify for tonight, as she almost fell at the first corner. Proven big race performer having won G1 Australian Cup earlier this year. Should lead and win. Selections: 3-2-7-5.

Wentworth Park Race 4 No 5 Equalizer $7.50 at PlayUp – Just managed to scrape through to the semi-finals after copping plenty in his prelude. This race is set up for his barn storming finish. Very strong dog. Selections: 5-2-3-8.

Wentworth Park Race 5 No 1 Zippy Tesla $2.70 at PlayUp – Loves an inside draw as shown by his outstanding win in the G1 Silver Chief in Melbourne from this very box. Huge run last week to finish second from a bad draw. Best bet of the night for us. Selections: 1-3-7-4.

Wentworth Park Race 6 No 4 Wow She’s Fast $1.70 at PlayUp – She looked to be a touch disappointing last week when run down late. However, that was her first trip away from home, and we would not expect her to get run down tonight. She should lead and win. Selections: 4-8-5-6.

Wentworth Park Race 7 No 4 She’s A Pearl $1.30 at PlayUp – The best dog in New South Wales who has won her last ten straight, and sixteen of her last seventeen starts, all in top company. Near faultless beginner. She simply leads and wins. Selections: 4-2-5-8.

Wentworth Park Race 8 No 1 Persuasive $2.40 at PlayUp – Slashing wins in very fast times at his last three starts at Bulli. Has trialled very fast at this venue. Should have the speed to hold the inside early. Selections: 1-3-7-6.

Wentworth Park Race 9 No 3 Doonan $6.00 at PlayUp – Only a youngster but loves this track. Reliable beginner with excellent speed to the back. Drawn to get nice run along the rails at first corner. Selections: 3-4-6-5.

Wentworth Park Race 10 No 6 Big Opal Rocks $6.00 at PlayUp – Dog with a huge motor as he showed last week with prelude win in fastest of the night. Has the ability to overcome the awkward draw. Very strong late. Selections: 6-2-3-5.

Angle Park Race 8 No 8 Stout Monelli $4.40 at PlayUp – Resumed from a spell in his heat last week so should have gained significant benefit from that run. We think the 7 dog can provide him with a nice cart across in the dash to the first turn. Very strong late as a rule. Attractive odds.
