Horse Racing Tips May 15th

Another huge day of racing coming up this Saturday, with black-type events from Adelaide, Rosehill, and Flemington. Meanwhile, at Doomben, it is a big day for the G1 Doomben 10,000 which sees a number of our highly talented sprinters go toe to toe in some wet conditions. Take a look at our PlayUp form expert selections below.

Flemington R4 #4 Hypnos $4.40 at PlayUp  – Very excited to see this highly talented NZ raider line up here over the 2000m, coming off a very gallant second to Beauden in the G3 Canterbury Gold Cup last start. He finished right alongside the winner, and they put a huge space back to third and fourth. He is a G2 winner, while also ran fourth in a G1 over the mile. This trip is his pet distance, he has a 50% winning strike rate on wet going and looks very well placed with only 55.5kg after the claim in this open handicap event. His ratings are far superior to any other runner in this field and he should be winning.

Flemington R5 #8 Plaquette $3.70 at PlayUp  – Third up into the prep now for this Godolphin mare, and she is absolutely bursting to win another race now. She was super last start running a very tight second at Caulfield over the 1100m, and all her runs now in Melbourne have been her best rating figures, indicating she loves this way of going. The sting out of the track won’t worry her, and she has previous straight track form with a 3rd in BM80 level behind Leiter last prep. She has drawn on the right side of the track, drops in weight far better than any other runner, and can be winning now.

Rosehill R4 #7 Newsreader $5.00 at PlayUp  – Confident that this horse has furnished into a very nice filly who is destined for some black type events, and she resumes here for her ninth career start. Two runs last prep all but confirmed my suspicions that she is talented, with a Magic Millions Mdn win with ease, and a demolition job at Warwick Farm the start after. She has since been spelled and resumes here off two trial wins where it looks as though she has not missed a beat. Soft track no worries, she is a winner on a soft 5 and has trialed very well on a soft 7 and heavy 8, the wider draw for her is perfect as she gets back anyway, and should be finding the best ground out wide.

Rosehill R7 #5 Embracer $3.20 at PlayUp  – Keen to stick with Embracer here, after tipping his win in the Hawkesbury Rush the last start over 1100m. He was first up from a spell with a lightweight and accounted for that Listed field with ease. Second, up now, he will strip much fitter off that run and has great form at this stage of the prep including a second to the talented Superium. The soft track is a tick, he is drawn a touch wider which will definitely suit as well, and his 1100m as indicated previously are dynamite, with a record that now reads 7:3-2-1
