After a stunning evening of racing at the Meadows yesterday, highlighted by the running of the Speed Star series, we now find Group racing heading to Angle Park (SA) tonight with the finals of the restricted age events, the SA Oaks and Derby.
In addition, the NSW Million Dollar Chase continues with a further regional heat being conducted at Wagga Wagga. Due to lack of entries, only the one heat will be run, with the same dogs competing in the Wagga final next Friday.
The Meadows will be racing in the twilight zone today, the main event on the program being the final of a Grade 5 event that will see a very strong field do battle.
Angle Park R6 #3 My Girl Kizzy $1.85 at PlayUp – Member of a very promising litter by the up and coming sire Mepunga Blazer, My Girl Kizzy was the fastest qualifier last week when she recorded a comfortable win at her first start at the track. Both the 2 and 4 dogs are very good beginners, but both stay up the track and this should allow the favourite to find the rail by the winning post with a sit on the leaders. Strength is one of her assets and she should prove too strong in the run home and take out the Group 3 SA Oaks. Selections: 3-2-5-4
Angle Park R8 #4 Major Major $3.10 at PlayUp – A winner of 16 races and only 26 months of age, Major Major will need some luck from his awkward draw, but once he finds the rail he is a class act. Represents nice value in this. Selections: 4-1-7-2.
Wagga R4 #1 Moment Of Bliss $2.00 at PlayUp – Caught wide early last start when 2nd at Gunnedah, tonight from the rails draw she should have little trouble finding the early lead and that should be game, set and match. Selections: 1-5-7-2
Meadows R3 #2 Do It $1.50 at PlayUp – Beaten at his first start, this fellow has looked a star in winning his two subsequent starts at this track. A good beginner, who rails well, he should lead, and once on the lure, all eyes will be on the clock as he is capable of running very fast times. Selections: 2-3-6-1.
Meadows R11#1 Gypsy Zelda $3.60 at PlayUp – Not a strong field, Gypsy is drawn to get the sit on the speed dog Extra Speed, and then should prove too strong in the run home. This could be a nice race to play the Trifecta’s with the 1 to win. Selections: 1-3-4-8
