Live from 9am everyday – let’s take a look at what’s on deck today;

NBA – Cleveland Cavaliers @ Boston Celtics

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been the biggest surprise of the NBA season and we are backing them to continue their strong form as they visit the Boston Celtics this morning.

Cleveland were expected to finish close to bottom of the Eastern Conference but instead find themselves in 4th spot in the standings, 4 games clear of the Celtics. The main reasons for this are the outstanding play of 3rd year Point Guard Darius Garland who is averaging almost 20 PPG at 48/39/90 shooting splits and 7 assists a game. Evan Mobley is favourite for the Rookie of the Year and Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love are showing signs of their chemistry from playing together a decade ago for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Boston are having a middling season with only the one 3 game winning streak all-season. Cleveland are a league best 24-7 at the line this season and are a strong chance of winning outright. Even with the outs for the Cavs, this looks too many points for a team that is playing above market expectations every night.

Our best bet: Cleveland Cavaliers +6.5 $1.92 at PlayUp

Horse racing – Toowoomba

This David Murphy trained 4-year-old mare has slowly been improving this prep and gets to a very suitable 1880m.

When the markets went up $4 the “smart money” came pouring in especially with the fact Coerced had already just beaten the $1.55 favourite just in her very last race start.

Drawn barrier 1 and looks to map a few pairs in front of the favourite – with a suitable tempo, there is no reason she cannot prevail.

Our best bet: Toowoomba Race 1, no. 6 – Coerced $3.20 at PlayUp

Market mover
Lou’s Dream $101 –> $21.00

This very interesting runner and clearly biggest market move of the day comes out of the Shaun Nolen yard and had her debut run back in July at Warracknabeal.

This 4-year-old gelding out of Keep The Faith did a lot wrong at that start and raced very ungenerously in the early stages.

Natural improvement and the addition of Winkers for the first time – and the fact the punters were happy to “step” into the $100’s and again at the $40’s – she’s now into $21. Still looks a strong each way bet.

Wangaratta Race 2, no. 16 – Lou’s Dream $21.00 at PlayUp
