NBA – Dallas Mavericks @ New Orleans Pelicans
The Mavs travel to New Orleans for their final game of a road trip before signing off for the All-Star break.
After a big win in Miami last time out it’ll be interesting to see whether they can replicate that level of effort on the road in this one.
New Orleans look a much better offensive unit with the addition of CJ McCollum and should be able to take advantage of some nice scoring mismatches offensively to keep them in this game.
Smart money has been moving this market closer to a PK here and I can see why. I’m not sure the home team should be much above evens in a spot like this so there’s value to be found on the Pelicans right now.

Horse racing – Benalla
This 3-year-old filly out of the Leon and Troy Corstens yard with Robbie Downey in the saddle is the best bet of the day.
It is her sixth run of this prep and most likely her last before a well-deserved spell. Has run two strong seconds at her last two starts, expect her to camp just off the speed and be too strong late.

Alpine Aviator $4.60 –> $2.60
This 3-year-old gelding out of the Matt Laurie yard with Billy Egan in the saddle is the biggest go of the day.
After a modest first campaign where they obviously had an opinion as they sent him around in the Group 2 Stutt Stakes.
First up today from a 147-day spell and a very impressive jump out where he looks to have clearly matured.
The smart money steamed into the $4.60 when markets opened and again were happy to take the next $3.80 quote.
This is an average bunch, will be in the finish.
