Today’s EPL Best Bets Explained

Tottenham vs Brighton: Spurs to win & Over 2.5 Goals – 2.40 @ PlayUp

While the Spurs players spent Sunday with their feet up having thrashed Aston Villa the day before, Brighton were doing Tottenham a huge favour by beating their top four and North London rivals, Arsenal.

Grateful they will be, the home side won’t be handing out any favours in return when the Seagulls visit North London for a second successive weekend.

With five wins and a whopping 25 goals scored in their last half a dozen games, Spurs are in sumptuous form and scoring goals for fun. Conte’s team can take one step closer to Champions League qualification with another convincing victory on Saturday, something we fully expect to happen.

Watford vs Brentford: Brentford to win – 2.50 @PlayUp

Watford are in a right old pickle. Only Norwich are keeping them off the foot of the table and even the vastly experienced Roy Hodgson appears incapable of preventing The Hornets from an immediate return to the Championship.

A quick look at Watford’s home record explains a lot. Just two wins and a draw (a measly 7 points) is a dire return from fifteen games and is, unsurprisingly, the worst in the division. You have to go all the way back to November for Watford’s last success at Vicarage Road.

Sadly for Watford, that record is unlikely to improve. Brentford are the visitors to Vicarage Road on Saturday. With four wins in five, including that win at Chelsea, The Bees are understandably buzzing and are likely to put one more nail in Watford’s coffin by taking all three points.

Newcastle vs Leicester City: Newcastle to win – 2.20 @ PlayUp

Eddie Howe hasn’t quite got Newcastle firing away from St James’ Park. However, at home, The Magpies are going great guns.

Thirteen points out of a potential fifteen from their last five home games fixtures can only be bettered by Liverpool. In that time, they’ve sent Everton, Aston Villa, Brighton, and most recently, Wolves, away with nothing.

It’s fair to say Leicester are not the best travellers. Defeated in half of their fourteen games on the road – including three of the last five – The Foxes represent ideal opponents for Newcastle to continue with their traditional climb towards mid-table safety.
