Choosing The Right Draftstars Contest For You

Looking at the Draftstars Lobby for the first time can be quite daunting. There are so many options, with different names.

How can you be sure that you are entering the right contest for you?

Featured Contests

The Main: A $15 entry gives you a chance at the big bucks! In this contest you will compete against everyone, all vying for the top prize which is – depending on the sport – sometimes worth thousands of dollars. If you miss out on first place, don’t stress! The top 25% of all placings will get paid.

The High Roller: Big money is up for grabs, but it comes at a cost, and that cost is $150 for an entry. If you don’t feel like paying up for a spot, studying the High Roller to compare the player ownership between it and the other featured contests is a good way of seeing which players the top Draftstars users are picking.

The Mini: This contest is definitely one of the best places to start. Entry is only $2 and the maximum entries per user is capped at a much lower number. It is also a casual contest, which means that the best Draftstars players in that sport cannot enter, which makes it easier to win.

The Micro: Do you want to learn how to dominate Draftstars with multiple entries? Do you want to master the Lineup Cruncher? Do you have any theories that you wish to test? The Micro allows you to see how you would go bulk entering contests as each entry only costs 50c.

You can watch all Live featured contests even if you are not entered in them on the Live Contests page https://play.draftstars.com.au/live-contests.

Cash Games

All cash games can be found on lobby in the ‘All’ contests section when you select a specific sport. The cash games offered are Double Ups where the top 45% of entrants double their money, Triple Ups where the top 30% of entrants triple their money, and 6-mans where the top 2 receive a prize. These contests are often better for building a bankroll than featured contests for the following reasons. Firstly, the house edge or ‘rake’ is lower, which means that you are more likely to win in the long run. Secondly, you are player against fewer people and the contests pay a higher % of entrants, which makes it easier to win as well. Look for the Casual contest icon which prevents the best Draftstars users from entering that contest.

Head to Heads

Head to Head contests can be found in the ‘Head to Head’ section of a specific sport’s Lobby. H2H contests are great due to the fact that the rake is really low, which gives you a better chance of winning long term and that you are able to choose your opponent.
