The last Saturday racing for the year comes up today, so let’s end it on a high! The main event of today’s racing takes place at Eagle Farm in Queensland with the start of the Magic Millions series. Two Group 3 races with the Vo Rogue Plate and the B.J. McLachlan Stakes, and other big races including the Magic Millions Shoot Out and The Buffering. Action doesn’t stop there though, with racing at Randwick, Morphettville and The Valley. Here is PlayUp form analyst Lewis Willoughby’s top five plays of the day.
Randwick:R5 #11 Bandersnatch $2.35 at PlayUp – Two wins so far this prep have been outstanding, winning by 3L over 1400m on the Kensington track last start. Fittest third up and sticks to the same distance, this is harder but the light weight should offset that.
Randwick R7 #4 Madam Rouge $5.00 at PlayUp – This mare comes here first up after trialling behind Champagne Cuddles, untested and held to the line well. First up record of this horse is very good, as well as its record at the 1200m. Thought the price on offer currently was worth a bet.
Eagle Farm:R6 #4 Blondeau $2.60 at PlayUp – Everyone must’ve seen the debut of this horse, kicking clear and getting very lost in front, and nutted on the post. Winner of that race Aim has since won again very strongly. This is a strong race, but I had this horse marked much shorter than its current price.
Moonee Valley:R4 #1 Maserartie Bay $5.00 at PlayUp – Has been freshened since racing very greenly this track/distance. I think this horse has a stack of ability, but needs to put it all together. Hopefully the month freshen has helped his causes, and the 2kg claim for M Poy is also a positive.
Moonee Valley R8 #2 Wagner $2.35 at PlayUp – The win here first up was strong, had a light weight that day but dominated in front of some good types. Drawn the inside so will get a suck run, and with even luck getting clear room it should yet again be too good for these.
