Racing tips – 14th September

Midweek selections from the PlayUp form analyst.

Sandown Hillside:

R4 #7 Revue: $8.50 on PlayUpThis McEvoy horse is tracking well this campaign, winning solidly first up at Mildura and then running a gallant minor placing at Murray Bridge last time out. His first up win was most impressive coming from near last with a withering burst to win, recording a meeting fastest last 200m split from a near impossible winning position. He looks up to winning in midweek grade now third up, and the 1500m distance looks ideal for him. Leading rider booked in, and the wide draw is no concern with his get-back style of racing.

Warwick Farm:

R3 #2 Just A Jedi: $3.90 on PlayUpRacing so consistently this prep, and deserves another chance now fourth up and ready to peak. He ran out of his skin first up here over 1200m on a heavy deck, went very well in Saturday grade over 1400m at Rosehill, and was strong late again over a mile back at this track last start. He finally gets the step up to a staying trip, which I think he has been searching for, and retains the services of B Avdulla who is riding in form at the moment.

R5 #4 Willinga Rufio: $2.00 on PlayUpVery excited to see this horse return, who was a winner of two from three in his first prep earlier this year. He put a strong field to the sword second up last prep at Rosehill, running on an soft 7 and winning by over 2.5L. He then ran second to Naval Seal again at Rosehill, and then two trials leading into this prep have been very smart. Straight to 1600m first up looks ideal for this horse, and he gets a crucial claim for an in-form apprentice and is clearly better than midweek grade.
