Midweek selections from the PlayUp form analysis experts, see them down below:
Ballarat Race 2 #6 Winter Pinter $2.15 at PlayUp – Keen on this debutant for the Thorntons’, who will jump from barrier two here over the 1000m. She has clearly been a slow maturer, making her debut now as a 4yo mare. Four jump outs leading in though have been excellent, and all signs point to a successful racetrack debut here. She worked alongside proven city gallopers in Reykjavik and Great Again in a jump out two back, easily holding her own with them. Four jump outs leading in have her very fit and forward here, and the Thorntons’ have a great record when they combine.
Ballarat Race 4 #2 Gennady /#1 Wilmot Pass $7.50/$6.50 at PlayUp – Second up here, and returned in very fine style last start at Sale in a weaker grade race. He settled last off a slow tempo, where the leader ended up running second not beaten far at all. He peeled wide on the home turn and let down extremely well, carrying 61.5kg too! His second up form is strong, sticking to the winning distance of last start will suit, and has previous form in this class as well. He will be back again biding time off a good tempo, and should be right in this race at big odds. The top weight Wilmot Pass looks a good bet too, coming off a strong Caulfield race fresh, and gets a big claim to boot.
Warwick Farm Race 4 #7 The Move $2.90 at PlayUp – Very keen on the Brisbane galloper here, down from previous races at Doomben to make its Sydney debut. Two runs this prep have been full of merit, including a 4th on unsuitable heavy ground fresh, and an alright effort behind Weona Smartone last start over 1100m. Since then, he has trialled and spanked a trials field by close to 4L over the 1000m in a much improved effort. He will come into this race rock hard fit third up, well weighted, and the booking of J McDonald is a massive push within itself.
Warwick Farm Race 5 #5 Bravado $3.00 at PlayUp – Keen to be with the J O’Shea galloper here, who is training in outstanding form at the moment and this horse looks keen to continue his purple patch of form. Second up now, coming off a very good second behind the talented Belluci Babe at Hawkesbury over 1100m. Got back in running there and worked home very well through the line. Second up now, his run last prep when second up was a 3rd at Randwick behind Smart Image and Shaik, with numerous subsequent winners behind him. He SP’d at $10 in the G3 Up & Coming behind North Pacific, but was not suited by the heavy track. Clearly a horse with talent, he looks very well placed in a midweek bm64.
