Great day of midweek racing here, Rosehill on the quick back up after its Golden Slipper meeting on Saturday, there has been some rain around the area again so expect a wet track. Sandown Hillside is the venue in Melbourne, with the rail out +9m.
That is likely to help the horses that will race on the speed, although if the tempo is good enough, horses should be able to run on from the back as well. Sunshine Coast, Murray Bridge, Ascot and Launceston round out the other meetings, take a look below at PlayUp form analyst Lewis Willoughby’s five best plays of the day.
Sandown: R2#10 Charleise $8.50 at PlayUp – First up here, coming off the back of a solid trial over 800m behind subsequent winner Jenni Sox Rox. Jumps from barrier two and should position itself right on speed, which is sure to be helpful with the rail out +9m today. First up record good, on debut finished behind Microphone, and last prep won first up in a Geelong maiden which has turned out to be very good. We get a good price here, have a bet each way.
Sandown: R3#8 Walking Flying $15.00 at PlayUp – Great each way bet, comes here second up out of the same race last start as the favourite Affair To Remember, but Walking Flying actually ran a better race in my opinion. Ran some great sectionals in that race, flew home from back and got through the line really well. Steps up to 1600m here very suitable, looks to have come back in very good order this prep. Another each way bet.
Sandown: R7#9 Licko’paint $9.50 at PlayUp – Returns here from a freshen, still holding residual fitness from a solid four runs earlier this year in equal grade at Flemington. This mare has very good fresh stats, twice a winner and two placings’ from four attempts. 1200m is her pet distance, the wide draw is a slight concern but any luck in running should have her right in the finish.
Sunshine Coast R5 #5 Enterprise Jack $2.35 at PlayUp – Building nicely towards a win in all runs this prep, form behind Back The Rock and Tesarc reads good. Up to 1800m for the first time will suit today, and is drawn well in barrier three. Deserves to be favourite.
Sunshine Coast R6 #7 Tru Blu Tango $13.00 at PlayUp – Great each way hope here, resuming off a nice trial win at this track on wet going, so he is sure to be fitter than normal first up. His stats read very good on paper, fresh record is 3:1-1-0 and his 1000m record is 5:3-1-0. Drawn perfectly in barrier one, well weighted and soft track is no issue. Represents great value here.
