Warrnambool Cup – Race 6: #7 Aston Borelo – Place
A very interesting race with a stack of speed on paper. As usual the box draw is crucial and I believe Aston Borelo is drawn to perfection. #8 Marley Bale is usually slow out and will look to move off the track. #6 Zambora Brockie has fixed up his boxed manners and is beginning a lot better. I think he is the key dog in the race, if he jumps he will cut straight left and hold up the inside runners giving Aston Borelo a great drag into the race. Aston Borelo is a faultless beginner and has really impressed me lately with his ability to finish off races, as he isn’t known for his strength. At the price of somewhere around $2.40 I am happy to go with place only. I do think he can win the race but he will need a bit of luck and possibly interference between the dogs drawn underneath him. I am making the #6 Zambora Brockie as the hardest to beat. I also have a healthy respect for #3 Unlawful Entry, however the draw has done him no favours.
Warrnambool Classic – Race 8: #7 Aeroplane Bob – Each Way
Again an interesting race with 5 dogs all around the $5 mark. Aeroplane Bob looks the best drawn with the #6 Magic Is Might looking the early leader and will also rail. #3 Kilty Express could also be on pace early, hopefully this is the case as it will make it hard for the 4-5 dogs to find a run as they are both a bit tardy early. Aeroplane Bob isn’t known for his early speed but more for his strength at the end of races. If he can just stay close to them early and get a clean run he will be rattling home at the finish. #8 Shep likes to stay off the track and should give him some room early. Again I think he is the best drawn dog in the race and he definitely has the potential to win. I think 3-4- 5 dogs are all the hardest to beat which ever one is on pace will be a threat because they are all very strong dogs.
Hopefully a successful night for all, until next time dish licker fans!
